When people hear the word "pogostick" most of them think of a 10 year kid wearing a helmet and maybe some elbow and knee pads, hoping about precariously a few inches up and down. After observing Pogopalooza 6, I am not one of these people. Reading about it in the Pittsburgh Gazette, I thought extreme pogosticking sounded like a silly sport and that I would go, get some fun photos for myself or maybe for deviantart if I was lucky and call it a day. That changed after I spent a few hours on Saturday afternoon watching athletes ranging in age from 15 through their late 20's do flips, spins, and jump up to 8'6'' in the air. I ended up a fan of this extreme sport that has forever reinvented the classic toy that we all know. It is a shame that I only saw a few hours on the final day, and did not see any of the freestyle jumping that occurred across the city over the first few days of the festival.
